Eat IT Drink IT Ltd is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all employees, contractors, visitors, and customers. The company's management recognises its legal and moral responsibilities to provide and maintain, so far as is reasonably practicable, a working environment that is safe and without risk to health. This policy outlines our approach, responsibilities, procedures, and commitment to health and safety across all operations and premises.
1. Policy Statement
Eat IT Drink IT Ltd is dedicated to achieving the highest standards of health and safety. We aim to prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health by managing the risks in the workplace, complying with all relevant health and safety legislation, and continually improving our practices.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees (including directors and managers), contractors, agency staff, and visitors across all premises, including restaurants, bars, offices, and any off-site locations where Eat IT Drink IT Ltd operates.
3. Objectives
• To provide adequate control of health and safety risks arising from work activities.
• To consult with employees on matters affecting their health and safety.
• To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment.
• To ensure safe handling and use of substances.
• To provide information, instruction, training, and supervision for employees.
• To ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks and receive adequate training.
• To prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health.

4. Responsibilities
4.1 Management Responsibilities
• Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all employees and others affected by our work.
• Allocate adequate resources for health and safety management.
• Set clear health and safety objectives and monitor performance.
• Regularly review policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
4.2 Employee Responsibilities
• Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others affected by their acts or omissions.
• Co-operate with management on health and safety matters.
• Not misuse or interfere with anything provided for health, safety, or welfare.
• Report hazards, accidents, and near misses promptly to management.
• Follow all safety instructions and training.
4.3 Contractors and Visitors
• Are expected to comply with all health and safety instructions given by Eat IT Drink IT Ltd staff.
• Must report any hazards or incidents to management immediately.
5. Arrangements and Procedures
5.1 Risk Assessment
Eat IT Drink IT Ltd conducts regular risk assessments of all work activities, premises, and equipment. These assessments are reviewed at least annually or following any significant change or incident. Identified risks are controlled through elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, or personal protective equipment (PPE).
5.2 Training and Communication
• All employees receive health and safety induction training on joining.
• Regular refresher training is provided, particularly when roles or work activities change, or when new equipment is introduced.
• Health and safety information is communicated through briefings, notice boards, and regular meetings.
5.3 Safe Systems of Work
• All tasks, particularly those involving manual handling, use of machinery, cleaning chemicals, and fire safety, are performed according to documented safe systems of work.

• Employees are required to follow these procedures at all times.
5.4 Workplace Safety
• Ensure walkways, exits, and emergency routes are unobstructed at all times.
• Maintain clean and tidy storage areas
• Conduct regular checks of equipment, fixtures, and facilities to ensure safety and functionality.
5.5 Fire Safety
• Fire risk assessments are completed for all premises and reviewed at least annually.
• All staff are trained in fire prevention, alarm activation, evacuation, and the use of fire extinguishers.
• Fire drills are carried out at regular intervals and findings are documented.
5.6 Accident Reporting and Investigation
• All accidents, incidents, and near misses must be reported immediately to the manager.
• Incidents are recorded in the accident book and investigated to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
• Serious incidents are reported to the relevant enforcing authority as required by law (e.g., RIDDOR in the UK).
5.7 First Aid
• Adequate first aid facilities and supplies are provided at all sites.
• Trained first aiders are present during operating hours.
• All incidents requiring first aid are recorded and reviewed.
5.8 Safe Use of Substances
• All hazardous substances (e.g., cleaning products, chemicals) are stored, handled, and disposed of in accordance with COSHH or equivalent regulations.
• Staff receive training on safe handling and appropriate PPE is provided where required.
5.9 Equipment and Maintenance
• Regular inspection, maintenance, and testing of equipment, are carried out by competent personnel.
• Defective equipment is taken out of use until repaired or replaced.
5.10 Welfare Facilities
• Clean and well-maintained toilet, washing, and changing facilities are provided for all staff.
• Rest areas and drinking water are available at all premises.
5.11 Consultation and Employee Involvement
• Health and safety is a standing item at regular team meetings.
• Employees are encouraged to raise concerns and suggest improvements.

• Formal consultation is carried out through health and safety representatives, where appointed.
5.12 Monitoring, Audit, and Review
• Managers carry out regular workplace inspections and audits to monitor compliance and identify improvements.
• Health and safety performance is reviewed at least annually, and this policy is updated as required.
5.13 Emergency Procedures
• All premises have clear and well-communicated emergency plans covering fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, and other potential incidents.
• Emergency contact details are displayed at all locations.
6. Implementation and Enforcement
Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Eat IT Drink IT Ltd is committed to fair and consistent enforcement, with the aim of improving standards and protecting all who may be affected by its operations.
7. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually and whenever there are significant changes to the business or relevant legislation. All employees are encouraged to contribute feedback o and suggestions for improvement.
